Thursday, 25 July 2002, By GINGER_0000 Back from my short break and the BYDODL Season 2 has started! The results of our first BYDODL Season 2 match against =BeF= can be seen under the MATCHES section. Our next match in the BYDODL is against =BA=. Now there is nes other than the BYDODL. |CL| DoD is going to be reformed, many new features will be implemented and so if you have any comments or recommendations please e-mail them to me. I’ve already received quite a few ideas, and I am considering them all. I’d also like to welcome a new trialist, Morning Glory. Let’s give him a warm welcome, and not be too rough. PS: Well done to Evil Orange and Evil Person for keeping the clan in order while I was on holiday. A promotion? Hmm. Over and Out... |

Friday, 12 July 2002, By GINGER_0000 Well well well. Long time no update, and alot of things have happened. We finished 2nd in our division in the BYDODL. Season 2 of the league commences very soon, the 21st July. DoD Beta 3.0 has been released. The 2.1 - 3.0 update can be dowloaded from here: http://fileplanet.blueyonder.co.uk/blueyondergames/halflife/modifications/dayofdefeat/p atches/win32/dod_v2130.exe Rapid, a very valued member has become inactive due to not having enough time to dedicate towards DoD, and |CL|. Hopefully we will be seeing him again soon. On the other hand, I am more than pleased to welcome Durruti as well as Foof aboard, and we have a new trialist, Epic who was a former TGE member. Let’s show them a warm welcome. Also, I will need to appoint temporary leader’s for when I am away on holiday. I will contact individuals on MSN Messenger. There will be a practice on Sunday @ 1930 GMT. Over and Out... |

Wed, 19 June 2002, By GINGER_0000 Wow! The match against QRGR was great, we started off badly as Allies with QRGR pretty much dominating dod_heutau and not giving us much room. Eventually they capped which inspired us to fight back harder. We pushed them back to their 2nd flag and held them until there was a break in their defence and we capped the map back with 5 or so minutes to go. QRGR had quite a lead at this point but the cap, and our want to cap again proved un-stopable and we held them for some time at the 2nd flag again. With 2 minutes to go the point difference was roughly 20 to the advantage of QRGR. By the end of the match it was down to 5. Very, very close! Almost had it! The second round could have been better but we dominated the map as Axis, and had them to their 1st flag quite a few times. We deserved to win this round, and we did. Overall, one of the most exciting games so far, and well played to QRGR. Wouldn’t mind playing those lads again in the future. You can find the results in the MATCHES section. Our postponed match against YCT was played on Sunday, and we won both rounds. Not a very exciting match as YCT didn’t have a prepared plan, and from what we could tell their player moral was quite low. I wish you guys lots of luck in the future, and don’t give up! The results can be found in the MATCHES section. Also, we have lost one of our most valued members, Rapid. He decided to leave |CL| due to Real Life TM. Best of luck mate, hope to see you around again, and lay off the dope. Naturally, I wouldn’t want to leave on a bad note. It has come to my attention that Evil Person has being contributing alot to the clan Tactically wise. Therefore I will be promoting him to Lance Corporal. I appreciate all your work mate and keep at it. During the next few weeks I will be adopting a medal system for different skills which I think deserved to be recognised in |CL|’s Clan Community. I’ll keep you all posted on this one. We are currently 3rd in the BYDODL. If we secure a 2-0 victory on the next match we could finish 2nd. So let’s keep it up lads. Over and Out... |

Wed, 06 June 2002, By GINGER_0000 Since the last update lots of stuff has happened. Firstly our BYDODL match against [=BiO=] did not go well, mainly due to the fact that we had no Tactics organised for it. Even so, very good play from [=BiO=] who deserve lots of credit. It ended with a close 1-1 draw. Secondly, our BYDODL match against TWR was a tough one, and we all knew it would be. They clearly knew how to play the map better than us, and certainly took advantage of this. We did manage to fight back on a few occasions, but we were out-skilled. TWR won 2-0, and all I can say is that it has taught us alot. That was the second match in a row we had played with no set tactics, so I have put much effort into arranging a friendly clan match with -=Platoon=-. The match against -=Platoon=- will be played on dod_anzio as our next BYDODL is on that map. Let’s please make this a pleasant and useful friendly. Any tactic based discussions are welcome, and thank you to Private Johnson who has already sent me a plan for Anzio. The details of the friendly are below: Saturday 8th June @ 1930 GMT, 8vs8, dod_anzio. The current line up can be seen in the FORUMS, under the Private DoD Section. If you can play please contact me as there are still places - Or I can put you down as a reserve. The match will be played on the “Chicken Lips Server”. Please make sure you add it to your favourites in order to cut down on any delays. Server IP: 217.79.111.170:27018 Password: chickenlips The next BYDODL match is against <[YCT]> on Tuesday 11th June @ 1930 GMT. Over and Out... |

Wed, 22 May 2002, By GINGER_0000 The match against Platoon was excellent! We started as Axis and went in blind with no tactics and only one plan: Throw ourselves at them. Amazingly it worked and they really cracked under the pressure. We must have capped roughly 4 times to go onto a decisive win of: 214 - 117 which is the highest dod_avalanche win in this league so far. As Allies we had tactics but decided against them and to play on our senses. We were 2 men down (TheOtherOption crashed out and Private Johnson was having dinner) and Platoon managed to cap twice. Therefore there was a quick change in the way we played. We charged up to the middle flag and took them head on, and after a long battle we managed to regain control and cap twice (I think). From then on we pretty much dominated and won the second round too with a: 165 - 145 victory. Our 165 victory as Axis was second highest in the league. Very well played to the |CL| Team! Let’s keep it up! Our next match is against [=BiO=] on Tuesday 28th May @ 19:30 GMT, dod_zafod. Let’s make it a good one! The |CL| vs -=Platoon=- Screenshot results will be posted under the “Matches” section. Over and Out... |

Wed, 15 May 2002, By GINGER_0000 |CL| DoD are now in the BlueYonder DoD League. We’ve already played our first match against ]RA[ who failed to show so we win by default. Easy points, but all of those who showed up would have prefered to actually play for the points. Our next BYDODL match will be against -=Platoon=- on Tuesday 21st May @ 19:30 GMT. The map played will be dod_avalanche, and 8vs8. Click here for a link to the BYDODL homepage. It has everything you need to know. Also, because some members have become match hungry (BossHogg and BBB), I have decided to enter us into the ClanBase DoD League. That way we will get some more matches coming our way - hopefully. Finally, BossHogg has been promoted to Sergeant (from Corporal) for his help with the BYDODL. He kept us all informed of the situation. Greatly appreciated mate. Over and Out... |
